Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, journalist, TV host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England together with her family around age 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. Then she became a conservative syndicated writer after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a year later, she developed an online platform to voice opinions which offered critiques of politics. Her fame has led to the attraction of many prominent contributors to share their thoughts on news, politics and culture. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003 when she ran as an independent in California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. She was also involved in a Detroit-based project that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Her name was voted as the most Influential Women in Media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th spot on the list. In the same year Guardian named her on the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. named her president of their media group in 2011 following the bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included the other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and manager Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she was close to her father, it was her bond with her mother that formed her character. She displayed leadership qualities from the beginning. Her move to England came at 16 to continue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. While in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the colleges debating societies, where she eventually became its first female and foreign president. In 1972, she earned an education in Economics. The career of an anchor and reporter began after she graduated. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
