The single Despacito, which combines reggaeton with pop music has not just brought fresh attention to reggaeton music but also sparked interest in Latin music. The Billboard Top 100 featured two songs in Spanish mostly, and four tracks in 2016. The popularity of Despacito reached its peak in the year 2017. In 2020, 41 mostly Spanish songs will be included in the Top 100. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. Then, various artists collaborated with Reggaeton stars like Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma and Medellin 2019. In the year 2020, some Reggaeton musicians were complaining about the advancing of the genre towards the mainstream. However, a younger generation, such as Rauw Alejandro was keen to continue the evolution. The incorporation of elements from electronic dance music, and various other genres was a typical procedure.
